About Us Sam Anabi was born and raised in Yonkers, New York and moved to California to train at the L.A. Sheriff's Academy. While at the Academy, he opened his first gas station in 1991 in the city of Baldwin Park. He was employed by the La Verne Police Department where he met Rene and was married in 1995. Sam was injured in the line of duty and retired in 1998 to devote his full attention to growing his gasoline retailing business. Sam still holds an active badge with the La Verne and Glendora Police Reserves. Rene is an active partner in the business and is also involved with the Boys and Girls Club of Pomona and the local Girl Scouts troop. They attend Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Claremont and donate to numerous charities and local causes.
Over the years, the company has grown by buying and selling stations, converting bays into convenience stores, adding car washes, partnering with fast food brands, and building ground up new to industry locations. This growth has provided us experience from the perspective of a...buyer, seller, lease dealer, open dealer, franchisee, owner, and wholesale distributor. We have worked with bankers, brokers, contractors, vendors, environmental compliance agencies, equipment manufactures, architects, employees, major oil company suppliers, and thousands of customers. Anabi Oil continues to be a consistent top performer for Shell when it comes to image, customer service, and volume growth. As a result of this success, Anabi Oil was offered a wholesale contract with Shell in 2010. Anabi Oil now has the capability of offering and distributing the Shell brand from Los Angeles to the San Francisco Bay area. We are proud to be associated with one of the most recognizable brands on the planet, Shell, and are committed to growing this brand with like minded operators!
Our management team includes several long time Shell Oil Company employees who have given us great insight as to the workings of "big oil". As a result, Anabi Oil now boasts over 65 years of industry experience.
